Fare increase in public transport in Martin (from 1 Jul 2023)

The prices of all types of tickets are increasing, but the most advantageous travel remains with pre-paid tickets.

As of 1 July 2023, there will be a fare increase in the public transport in Martin. The price increase is implemented due to the need to cover the increased costs of public transport operation, so that it is not necessary to reduce the range of urban public transport operations.

The prices of single tickets purchased with a transport card will increase by an average of 17% and the more favourable pre-paid tickets will become up to 10% more expensive.

Only single tickets for €1.50 (cash or bank card payment) will be available for all categories of passengers in the complementary sale at the driver's cab. The operator's aim is to motivate passengers to use the transport card.

For citizens over 62 years of age, handicapped people and holders of the Janský plaque residing in Martin, who can travel with the transport card free of charge, an annual fee of € 5 is introduced for the management of the transport card. This fee will be charged once a year from the credit on the transport card when it is attached to the check-in device in the vehicle (at the earliest after 1.8.2023).
